holiday gift program

The Holiday Gift Program brings joy to children in the foster care system by providing them with meaningful gifts for the holiday season. Working in partnership with local foster care agencies, we ensure that every child receives something special during this time of year.

Most agencies share lists that include each child’s age, gender, and holiday wish list. These wish lists are then distributed to individuals, companies, and groups who purchase gifts for specific children. that every child receives something special during this time of year.

A little history...

Founded in 2007, the Holiday Gift Program began by providing gifts to 50 children through one Montgomery County agency.  During the 2024 holiday season, Foster Angels and its supporters were able to provide gifts for more than 2,700 foster children served by agencies throughout Bucks, Montgomery, Philadelphia, Delaware and Chester Counties. Most agencies share lists with us that include each child’s age, gender, and holiday wish list. These wish lists are then distributed to individuals, companies, and groups who purchase gifts for specific children

A secondary way gifts are collected is through new toy donations, made directly to our organization via our Amazon Wish List or through general community toy drives. 

These donations are then distributed to participating agencies to support their internal holiday programs for foster children.

For many children in foster care, the gifts they receive through this program are the only presents they’ll open during the holidays. Reading their wish lists is often humbling — many ask for simple, everyday items such as bedding, warm clothing, shoes, or a gift card to a restaurant. These are the kinds of things most children take for granted. Our goal is to give every foster child a holiday they deserve — one filled with warmth, joy, and the feeling of being remembered.
